The most striking aspect of Province Lake Golf is its location adjacent to crystal clear Province Lake. The entire length of the fifth and sixth holes border the lake and the lake is visible from 14 of the 18 holes! On hot, sultry, summer days, a lovely cool lake breeze blankets golfers not only on the lakeside holes, but on all of the first seven holes. And, not to worry, holes 8 through 18 wind gently through rolling, wooded hills, so even on the hottest days, there is cool relief on every hole. Province Lake is not located near any major road, so its location allows a "quiet" rarely found these days. Golfing a Province Lake is truly a "country" experience and an unusual treat.

The most unique aspect of PLG is its location in both Maine and New Hampshire! Golfers can literally tee off in Maine and putt in New Hampshire. Three holes are located in Effingham, NH and 15 holes are located in Parsonsfield, ME. PLG's fully restored, turn-of-the-century clubhouse buildings, Pro Shop, 300 yard driving range and practice facilities are located in Parsonsfield, ME.

The most welcoming aspect of PLG is the reasonable cost to play. Greens fees drop at 11:00AM. Think of as very early twilight rates. For those who enjoy golfing late in the day, the price after 6 pm is just $1.00 per hole and there are really low rates for Juniors.

Province Lake Golf's mission is to be user friendly and comfortable for all members of the family. With that in mind, the course has four sets of tees ranging from 4,169 yards -- a perfect length for beginners and players who hit their drives less than 150 yards to 6,277 yards -- challenging for low handicappers because of the course's design which features small greens and narrow fairways. PLG has a beginner league, a ladies league, a men's twilight league and a mixed Sunday Scotch every Sunday. PLG also offers childcare, so parents and other care givers can golf without worrying about leaving the kids behind.
